La Ilustre Municipalidad de Santiago junto al Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, realizaron la entrega a la comunidad del edificio “Santiago Social”. Inmueble, que anteriormente funcionó como la Casa Central del Instituto Profesional Arcos y que se transformó en una nueva dependencia Municipal desde febrero del 2020, cuya remodelación y habilitación se encontraba dividida en dos etapas finalizando esta última en diciembre.
Las obras de remodelación y habilitación del edificio, ubicado en calle Santo Domingo Nº 789, esquina San Antonio, que cuenta con 4 pisos más un zócalo y con una superficie total de 5.708 m2 estuvieron a cargo de la Corporación para el Desarrollo de Santiago. Entre las obras realizadas se encuentran: Climatización, electricidad, instalaciones sanitarias, estructura metálica. nuevo ascensor, instalación de pisos porcelanato y cerámicas, recuperación de muros, sistemas de detección de incendio, tabiquería, vitrificados pisos de madera, entre otros. Dando una nueva vida a un edificio significativo para la comuna en términos urbanos y patrimoniales.
El edificio que cuenta con dos puertas de acceso, escaleras, ascensores, con grandes y luminosos espacios, los que permiten alojar en su interior cómodamente a 400 funcionarios aproximadamente, los que son parte de las Direcciones Municipales de DIDECO, Subdirección de Desarrollo Social, Participación Ciudadana, Servicios Sociales, Subdirección de Santiago Emprende (ex DIDEL), Sumarios, Asociación de Funcionarios Municipales, Vía Pública y Subdirección de Inspección.
Las remodelación y habilitación de este edificio, permitió centralizar la atención de público de la Dirección de Desarrollo Comunitario en un solo edificio y con una ubicación más céntrica, de esta manera los vecinos podrán realizar sus trámites y consultas sociales en un solo lugar, sin tener que deambular por distintas locaciones, especialmente los adultos mayores y quienes presentan movilidad reducida. Otro beneficio destacado es la mejora sustantiva a la calidad de las oficinas y del ambiente de trabajo de los funcionarios municipales, quienes además cuentan con un moderno casino.
Como CORDESAN, estamos orgullosos de ser parte de la habilitación de este nueva Dependencia Municipal, la que se encuentra al servicio de todos y todas nuestros vecinos y vecinas.
